Hello! My name is Matt Pelzer and I am thrilled to be your student's fourth grade teacher this year!  This is my third year teaching at Bethune and I look forward to working with your student.

My expectation for your student is that they try their best and get better at all times.  Through hard work and effort I know your student can have a successful school year.  Fourth grade is an important year in the development of your student and by working together we can ensure a successfull transition to fifth grade and beyond.

In my class students will have homework every night.  In order to be succesful students must be completing their homework.  All homework will be an extension of what is happening in the classroom and will be due to following morning.  I also ask that all students read at least 20 minutes a night at home.  The more students read the more successful they will be.  I have a great deal of books in my classroom and students are welcome to borrow them at any time.
